Workspaces & members
Every diagram you make lives in your workspace. Invite people into it to share everything at once, instead of sharing diagram by diagram.
Your personal workspace
Every account comes with a personal workspace, created for you when you sign up. All the diagrams and folders you create live in it, and its name is what you see at the top of your dashboard sidebar. You can rename it any time from Settings → Workspace.
You own your workspace, and a workspace has exactly one owner. Inviting members never changes that: members collaborate in your workspace, but the diagrams, the folders, and the workspace itself remain yours.
Invite members
Go to Settings → Workspace and invite people by email. Each member gets a role that applies across the whole workspace.
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
Editor | Can open and edit every diagram in the workspace — draw, move, and delete elements on the canvas. |
Viewer | Can open every diagram in the workspace and follow along live, but cannot change the canvas. |
Invitees get an email with an accept link. Until they accept, the invite shows as pending in your member list, where you can resend or revoke it. Membership grants a role on every diagram in the workspace at once — to share a single diagram instead, use the diagram's own share controls (see Sharing & public links).
What members see
Your workspace's diagrams show up in each member's Shared view, kept apart from their own library. From there they open a diagram and work with you on the same canvas in real time — live cursors, presence, and comments all work the way the Real-time collaboration guide describes.
Members never see your Trash. When you move a diagram there, it disappears from their Shared view until you restore it. Owner-only operations also stay with you: deleting and restoring, starring, moving between folders, managing access, publishing public links, and managing folders. The Who can do what section has the full picture, including how workspace roles combine with per-diagram invitations.
Change roles and remove members
From Settings → Workspace you can switch any member between Editor and Viewer, or remove them from the workspace entirely. Removing a member takes away the access the workspace granted them — diagrams you shared with them individually stay shared until you remove them from those diagrams too.
Removal takes effect within a few minutes
